We're coming up on our year anniversary of being in our new office, and our space has definitely had a huge transformation. From the beginning, we knew we wanted to put our personal touch on it, starting with the front entrance room. We gathered up our resources and propped, shopped, opened boxes, cut, painted, nailed and did countless other tasks to come up with this look!
First, we chose a color palette that would be easily changeable throughout the seasons — of course we loved gray, our color-of-the-moment. Gray is a neutral that gave us a nice canvas to showcase a variety of our products and just so happens to be in our beautiful logo. We pulled the color through the curtains and the fabric in our bookshelves (look for a how-to on this soon!). We chose green accents in the trim of the rug, blankets, throw pillows and tablescape. We love how this palette creates a feeling of welcome for visitors as they walk through our front door. Neutral furniture (white chairs, bookshelves and mantel, plus a farmhouse dining table) completes the look without introducing new, distracting shades into that palette.
Oh, and we did all this in one day — we came in on a holiday so the rest of our Willow House coworkers wouldn't see how crazy-frantic we get with such a quick project (they already think we're crazy enough with Josh walking around with product on his head). There were some tense moments (particularly with Leslie and Carrie, who discovered paint does not perform well in humid, high-90 degree heat), but we ended up having a lot of fun.
Overall, we're pretty pleased with our room, and we get to enjoy it every time we walk through the front door. We find that being surrounded by a creative and pleasing environment really helps us be creative in our work — and that's what it's all about!
