What does it take to build your own video studio? Vision, paint, and and a good dose of manic energy!
A couple weeks back, I decided I MUST have a new video studio. Never mind that we had just returned from Convention. Nevermind that the catalog team was planning and shooting the new Sara Blaine jewelry catalog. Nevermind that it would mean moving 2,500 bits and pieces of product, disassembling shelves, and manically painting in a three-day span. Common sense be damned — I wanted a new studio! So you know what? I just did it.
I cleaned out the space on a Friday, painted (gray, with David's help) on Saturday, planned on Sunday, planned MORE on Monday with the fabulous Melanie Grant, painted more on Monday (blue this time!), then propped, shopped, and finally SHOT on Thursday and Friday. WOO!
It was a crazy week, but we had great success in our new space, even with some very uncooperative thunderstorms. Here's a glimpse of one of the segments we shot, featuring a Sneak Peek of our fall Sara Blaine Jewelry that goes on sale September 1:
We shot so much fun stuff — I can't wait to share it with you over the next two months. AND I have some really fun ideas for some new gift-giving segments for October and November. HINT: They involve Melanie, me, and some mischief!
