Build a Sparkly Wall

This wallscape is so cute, you gotta forgive the Milli Vanilli pun, OK?

The new fall catalog is really my favorite one yet. This time around, we kinda went wild and got really creative using various textures, colors and products.

Page 67 is a great example of this. We created a fun and cool way to display our Jewelry by Sara Blaine. We used the combination of different elements like patterned and solid colored fabrics with wood and metal frames. Then we tied the look together with our Portico Hardware.

This look is actually really simple to create. Here's all you need:

• Portico Hardware
• Fabric
• Screws
• Washers
• Fabric glue or tape
• Foamcore board
• Picture frames

(Note: make sure the screws are as short as possible so that they make the hardware flush with the board.)

Start off by measuring the foam board to fit your picture frame. Then cut the fabric to fit over the edges allowing you enough room to adhere the fabric to the back of the board.

Next, glue or tape the fabric to the back of the board. It's best to glue all the way around and to pull the fabric tight over the board. Place the fabric-covered foam board inside the frame. To keep it inside the frame lock it in place with the standard latches that are on most picture frames.

Now you need to poke a hole through the fabric board where you want the hardware to be placed. (We just used scissors, so note that the hole will probably not be perfect!) Note: make the hole smaller than your screw so your hardware doesn't wobble!

Then place the washer on the backside of the board and push the screw through the hole. Screw the hardware on the front side of the board into the screw. Note: when you're picking out screws, take your Portico Hardware with you to the store so you make sure your screws fit. Choose screws that are about 1/2 inch long, so they'll screw into the hardware enough so they don't poke out the back of your frame. Plus, use a large washer for more support!

And there you have it! A perfect way to access and display your Jewelry by Sara Blaine! Now all you have to do is find a new song to get Milli Vanilli's "Blame it on the Rain" out of your head! Happy Friday! ;)
