Favorite Fourth Foods
posted by Tori on | 4 Comments - Post a comment
The Fourth of July is a time to gather with friends and family to celebrate America's birthday. And as a proud American I generally celebrate it in one of the most patriotic ways possible — I eat, eat, eat until I can't see any more!

Traditional Fourth of July foods include watermelon, apple pie, fried chicken, ribs, cheeseburgers, peaches, homemade ice cream and anything else that is native to our Land of the Free. Whether you call it healthy or not, it has become somewhat of an American tradition to overeat — especially on a holiday. This year I plan on enjoying some of the classics. I usually build up a mighty appetite after spending the day on the lake. And what better way to enjoy the evening than with fireworks, friends, family and food?

One of my favorite Fourth of July treats is homemade ice cream. My dad always makes the best peach ice cream. It is the perfect complement to a nice warm slice of homemade apple pie after stuffing myself with all the ribs and fried chicken humanly possible.

My mom always makes the best fruit pizza in the whole world. She makes it with a sugar crust topped with delicious vanilla fruit dip and then makes a beautiful American flag design with strawberries and blueberries. Her recipe is very similar to this one here.

This year I will be displaying some of these fabulous eats on some of my favorite patriotic dishes like the Cinnabar Collection. The accent plates and the tidbits are perfect for serving appetizers and salsa. And the casserole dish is amazing for displaying a yummy dip.

And the Adair Upside-Down Cake Stand makes for an amazing grand finale with an apple pie served on top.

The Fourth of July is a great time to relax and enjoy what we love best about the summer. How are you spending your Fourth of July with our Willow House Home Décor products?

Homemade icecream...need I say more?
I love using my Cinnabar collection for the 4th of July celebrations and I pair it with the Riverstone stacking platters as well as pieces from the Tapas set too. It makes the food looks so festive!
Oooh - I'm thinking the Cinnabar Footed Server would be perfect with a tasty heap of fried chicken at the picnic!
July 4th is my favorite day of the year!!! It's not only my birthday, but I have two goddaughters born on July 4th. My best friends daughter and my little sister's daughter. So much to celebrate. I always used to think that the fireworks were for ME...my cake in the sky!!! These all look yummy.... Luv to layer the Lidded Trifle with blueberries, strawberries and lady fingers!!!
