How do you say "Capri?" If you're thinking it's like the pants, you may be in for a surprise!
For those of you who don't know me, I grew up in Mississippi. And that pretty much guarantees that when it comes to pronunciation, if a spoken word can tolerate an extra syllable or be in any way twangified, that's how it flies out of my mouth. Iah sympleigh caiyn't hailyp iyt!
Last year, we were traveleing in Italy, and were looking to take a boat ride to tour the Isle of Capri (which, in addition to being a riverboat casino in Vicksburg, Mississippi, is ALSO a beautiful island off the southern coast of Italy). I accosted a nice Italian woman to ask her about how to find a boat to Capri, which I prononounced, "Capreeeee," like the pants.
She arched her rather heavy Mediterranean eyebrow at me with amusement. "Capreeeee, eh? I love how you Americans say it. It sounds so fancy. Here, it's just 'Capri."

Note: this was not the actual lady, just an adorable Italian "nonna" we saw walking, but you get the point. I felt like you could use a visual. The way she pronounced it was very quick, and she swallowed the last syallable. Like, it ryhmes with "Happy."
So my point in telling you all that was to say that the view from beautiful Capri inspired us to name Sara's beautiful blue agate and sterling silver collection for this Spring/Summer catalog. The waters off the coast of Capri were this captivating shade of blue that kept changing. It was breathtaking. Here's a few pics we took:

Amazing, huh? If you'd like to see more pics and stories, check out my mini travel blog I made to chronicle the trip.
And of course, check out our video of Sara's Capri Collection and take a closer look at the beautiful blue that reminds me of this amazing place.
Oh, and by the way, feel free to say "Capri" however you please. Personally, I think "Capreee," like the pants, is just fine! ;)
