Cinco de Mayo is literally tomorrow. Have you made plans yet? All you need are margaritas, some festive food and some great friends!
A fiesta is just not a fiesta without a fun cocktail. Margaritas are probably the first thing that comes to mind during Cinco de Mayo. So, grab the tequila and your favorite pitcher — today we're making homemade margaritas!
There is a current trend in mixology these days about making funky twists on old classics or coming up with strange and never before thought of combinations. It makes my head spin when I go to a hip new Mexican restaurant and they have thirty different types of margaritas.
I'm always like, "Um, let's see, I'll have the cilantro-lime infused melontini margarita..." And it usually turns out OK but then I get the tab and my drink costs more than my quesadilla. Not cool. Seriously, please just give me a classic lime marg on the rocks, no salt, thanks!

My solution is to chill at home, make your own marg and call your friends over to hangout on the back porch. Who doesn't love a refreshing margarita on a hot day, especially during Cinco de Mayo? But for those of you who aren't to keen on tequila I've provided a tequila-free margarita recipe as well.
You might be wondering, "But, how will I serve these ice cold thirst-quinchers?" Solution numero dos: the Ruffled Glass Pitcher. Not only will it show off your bartending skills but the presentation is flawless. For a nice added touch, cut the limes crosswise into slices (or wheels) and use these as garnishes inside the pitcher.

The Real Deal Margarita (serves 8)
Beerita (serves 6)
4 12 ounce bottles cold light-flavored beer (Mexican beer is best)
1 12 ounce can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
Lime wedges
Kosher salt, for rimming glasses
Enjoy your fiesta and happy Cinco de Mayo!
