Here at Willow House, we like to keep you not only surprised with each new catalog but also on trend.
That’s why we’ve kept our spring jewelry catalog exciting and fresh by introducing some great new materials. I told you about one of my favorites, agate, a few weeks ago. My other favorite is our new vermeil pieces.

Vermeil pronounced “vermay” simply means a base of sterling silver coated on all surfaces with a heavy layer of gold. The process has been around forever. Those fashion-savvy French developed the process in the mid 19th century, so it’s no wonder the end result is a beautiful, vibrant, golden finish.

Our Chloé and Zara collections are the perfect example of this beautiful metal. The vermeil adds a vibrant, warm glow to the agate and smoky labradorite in these pieces. My personal favorites are the Chloé Beaded Earrings and the Zara Twist Necklace.

Sara Blaine gives vermeil a bohemian vibe with our Boho Necklace and Earrings. I think the geometric shapes with the drop fringe really make this timeless material more modern and hip.

Vermeil is used on everything from jewelry, to vases to flatware. The White House even has a collection of vermeil tableware in the famous vermeil room. Hey, if it’s good enough for The White House, it’s good enough for the Willow House, right?
