St. Patrick's day is fast approaching and with that comes many great things such as parties, parades, leprechauns and one of my favorites — green beer!
St. Paddy's day is often an under-appreciated holiday. Most people don't care or really even understand the significance of this great day. It was started in honor of Christianity arriving in Dublin, Ireland and named after the patron saint for this country. They threw a big party and held a procession, now commonly referred to as a parade. And me being part Irish I take pride in my ancestry and heritage. So every year what better way to honor this than to join in the fun and festivities?
Green beer is a St. Patrick's day staple. Every year my friends and I gather together and throw a fun party. We dye our beer green and wear our best green outfits. And in case you have been living on Mars you need to know that if you don't wear green then you will be pinched. Dyeing beer green is super easy and way fun. Beware though, you may get a green mouth. You just need to understand that your party is incomplete without green beer.

How do you make green beer you ask? Well first get a hold of your favorite brew, but keep in mind that the lighter the beer the prettier the green will be once dyed. Then get our Simone Glass Pitcher because it is the perfect display for your St. Paddy's beer. For every 12 oz. of beer add one drop of green food coloring. And voilá, it's that easy!

And if you are capable of getting to one of these cities I highly recommend checking them out this St. Patrick's day. Chicago goes extreme and dye's the Chicago River green. Savannah, Georgia has the second largest St. Patrick's day party in the country. Both cities basically shut down for the day and have an enormous parade followed by a big party and celebration in honor of the large Irish culture and heritage.
So this Saturday sport your best shamrock and toast with green beer, because everyone is Irish on March 17th!
