You know, sometimes it’s tough being the only guy around the office. Okay, who am I kidding ... it’s pretty awesome. But sometimes, I get jealous ... girls get to have all the fun!

Thankfully the rain subsided, so it was on with the show! Kathleen called on her love of fashion to shop for the perfect outfit for our model, Nancy, who we all fell in love with.

In fact, Kathleen and Celie loved the look so much, they showed up to work the other day — coincidentally — dressed like this!
But apparently, it’s not all fun and games on location. While I got to sit in the office and wax poetic about Sara Blaine jewelry, Kathleen, Katie, and Alison were hard at work on our first jewelry shoot with models! Everyone loved our model, Nancy, but they weren’t big fans of the torrential downpour that threatened to cancel the shoot!

But Kathleen and Celie aren’t the only ones who love our Sara Blaine jewelry. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved shiny objects, jewels in particular. My Dad, trying his best, would take me to the occasional Gun & Knife Show (I’m from Mississippi). But instead of being impressed by the noisemakers and sharp objects, I always gravitated to this one booth where a guy sold plastic faceted jewels. “Daddy, Daddy, can I have a jewel?” And bless his heart, he’d always get me one. I suppose that explains a lot.
Twenty-five years later, I’m still obsessed with jewels, even though I can’t wear them. Not that I haven’t tried, mind you. I keep trying on different Sara Blaine rings, but The Girls are like, “Josh, no. You can’t pull that off.” While I may not have any business wearing a Karina Smoky Quartz Silver Ring, it doesn’t mean I can’t rant and rave about the collection...

Romancing the Stone
I love the smoky quartz in the Karina Collection. As a kid, I was attracted to the flashier stones, like rubies and emeralds, but there’s something so sophisticated, rich, and even mysterious about smoky quartz. Instead of just catching the light, smoky quartz seems to absorb it, glinting and gleaming from within. The understated elegance of the stone allows you dress up or dress down this collection, depending on where you’re going.
Tears of Joy
Echoed in the cut of the stone and in the setting, Karina’s characteristic teardrop shape is captivating. It implies movement, which naturally catches your eye. And I love the fact that this detail is used in almost every Karina piece, so you can draw attention to the area of your body you’re most comfortable with, whether it’s your wrist, neck, hands, or ears.
Vintage Charm
As much as I’m in love with the tiny details that make Karina special, her beauty is really the sum of her parts. The smoky stones, combined with the teardrop shapes, all housed in antiqued, carved brass and silver really achieve a vintage look that is so beautiful and has such fashion longevity.
So, as you can see, I'm a pretty big fan of Karina. Try her on, and you will be, too! Now, maybe I'll see if I can pull off that Ionia Rivet-Studded Ring on page 13...
