Behind-the-Scenes Convention 2011
posted by Kathleen on | 14 Comments - Post a comment

As promised, it's time to start the behind-the-scenes look at our 2011 Convention Product Showcase. In the next few posts, we'll take you room-by-room starting with our elegant jewel-toned living and dining room.

It all started with just a few walls and ladders. It's still hard to imagine the whole room coming together at this point!

The first task was setting up the ceiling beams to hang our new show-stopping Monarch Grand Lanterns. We think it was worth the extra effort!

Our stylist, Lauren, gives the builders some direction about the spacing of the lanterns and table.

Table or puzzle? We're piecing together the mirrored coffee table made from our Cordova Nesting Tables.

It takes the whole creative team for this part. To keep the rugs in pristine condition, we waited until the end to place them, which means we needed to lift the already styled table without breaking anything...

Room one finished! Only three more to go!

Check back this week for a how-to on the framed art!

Product must-haves for the living / dinning room:
Monarch Grand Lantern (NEW! August 1st check out willowhouse.com)
Riverstone Collection (Dinnerware NEW! August 1st)
Looking Glass Sconces
Coronado Stone Pedestal
Hawthorne Hurricane

I so love the look of a faux window. Can you share how you do this? Thanks!
I want to step inside :) Beautiful use of multiple Coronado Stone Pedestals - gorgeous as a low centerpiece. Would it be possible to add a "how to" post (one day) about the curtain panels? I'd love to try to duplicate them. Thankyou! That coffee table is dreamy!
Love it!
Oh my! Please tell me that the flower mirror on the wall is going to be in the new catalog and not just a fabulous dispay item! :) I love it!
flower mural on the wall looks like the looking glass sconces around a circle mirror--am I right???
I just love the color scheme! It looks so clean and simple....something I'm striving to reach.
I love this room!!!!
Sharon - the faux window was just made by having a large outdoor print spray-mounted to foam board behind the window. Susie - the curtains were handmade by our stylist, Lauren. She bought inexpensive drapes (I believe from ikea) and cut strips of burlap. Using "stitch witchery" - bought from Hobby Lobby - she attached the burlap strips. Becky & Jen - You are correct, that is the looking glass sconce. We had them mounted around a simple circle mirror, I loved how it turned out as well!
I LOVE the behind the scenes photos. Great job!! I ditto Susie! Can I come play?!?
Love the lamps on the side buffet table in the dining room display. Where can I get those?
Kathleen, You said you mounted the looking glass sconces on a circle mirror to form the flower mirror? Mounted them how and using what?
Everything looks beautiful! I was wondering if you could share where you found the curtains?. I am in LOVE with them and want them for my bedroom. Thanks!!!
Nevermind, just saw the post below!
Thanks for the info about the print in the faux window. Was looking for how you made the windows. Did you use real windows or build them with trim?
