Easter is the perfect holiday to kick off spring, so celebrate with a weekend packed with fun activities for your kids, family, friends and neighbors. I've put together lots of decorating ideas for a fun-filled spring weekend. Try your favorites, and have a happy, hip hoppity Easter!

Use wheat grass wrapped with a ribbon in a pretty glass bowl and eggs nestled in moss around the base.

Display a few of your favorite Easter decorations under a glass dome. For my version of this idea, I used a framed picture of my nephew on the Easter Bunny’s lap, an antique porcelain egg of my grandmother’s, and a bright pink peony (my favorite flower) in a bud vase.

Fresh flowers in glass containers are always great for special occasions. I love the idea of adding fresh carrots and lettuce leaves to hide the stems.
And when your home is beautifully decorated, it’s time to show it off!
Friday Evening
Host an egg decorating party! Encourage your friends to bring ribbons, stickers, rhinestones, fabric, glitter ... anything that comes to mind to get together and decorate eggs with your kids. Here are a few of my favorite decorating ideas.

Saturday Morning
Start a tradition by hosting a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Make it extra special with these details:

Have your kids help you decorate a chalkboard sign like this one from Country Living to direct new friends where to go.

Serve this fun Easter Bunny cupcake afterwards to earn extra “cool” points. Add a small piece of pink cotton candy to a homemade cupcake for the bunny tail. Cut and layer paper to stick in as bunny ears.

Wrap lime green utensils in an orange napkin to create the look of a carrot. Secure the top with green pipe cleaners to look like the stem.
Sunday Lunch

Host a beautiful outdoor luncheon like this one!

Set up tables on your porch for everyone to enjoy the nice spring weather — we love this idea from Country Living!

Handpaint a personalized egg and place under a small dome for place cards at the table.
